Project management of 1 of 3 diamond drills on multiple properties in the Timmins, Ontario gold camp, including spotting proposed drillholes using survey-grade GPS equipment (Trimble), drillhole planning, daily core logging, geological interpretation using Gemcom GEMS, and preparing displays for investors.

Consulting Geologist

Prospecting, field mapping and GIS mapping for polymetallic veins, epithermal, red-bed copper and high sulphidation deposits in British Columbia, Bolivia and Mexico. Identified and collected soil and rock samples for assay. Contributed to assessment reports, built compilation and special-use maps, Google Earth visualizations and databases.

Summer 2008

Data Management Geologist

Copper Fox Metals Inc.


Primary contact for on-site multi-million dollar geology operations at the Schaft Creek porphyry copper deposit in northern British Columbia, Canada. Interacted with consulting engineers and government officials. Managed junior geologists and performed lithological and geotechnical core logging. Operated oriented core drillhole tool, located and flagged new drill sites, maintained 3D project maps in Surpac and built and maintained drilling progress website.

Crew Geologist

Mars Society Canada


Planned, designed and executed self-directed research into the feasibility of soil gas as a resource indicator in a Mars analogue setting. Conducted introductory-level geology instruction to engineers and biologists on the crew during our two week simulated mission to Mars in the Utah desert. Involved in public outreach in interviewed by CBC, SFU and newspapers for participating in the all-Canadian team. Research abstract available here.
