Dolomite and aragonite have higher densities. Associations: Common as a cementing agent in clastic sediments, or as fossil fragments. Essential constituent of limestone. Industrial / ecomonic uses: Used in the manufacture of portland cement (quicklime). Also used as a pharmaceutical (antacids, calcium supplements). |
